4th Practice Competition Dr. Rua Piano Studio

Every two years Dr. Rua’s studio holds a Practice competition, this year is our fourth one!  The competition is from September 10th to October 7th, 2023.

The student with the “most practice” gets the title of “champion” and the choice of prize from a list ($150 prize).

Start writing down in your Practice Tracker sheet how many minutes you practice per day. Parents will have to initial each practice session in the tracker in order for the times to count. Here is the link to the practice tracker:

Studio Awards 2022-2023

As the piano studio’s year comes to an end, let’s honor the students who achieve a milestone and who were best prepared for each lesson during the school year September 2022 to August 2023.

Apprentice Trophy: for beginner students that move into Early-intermediate level:

Skilled Trophy: for intermediate students that move into Late-intermediate level:

Legendary Trophy:  for Advanced level students that move into late-Advance level:

Annual Awards

These awards reward mainly attendance and preparation for each lesson:

Student of the Year:

Each students earns preparation points for each lesson. The student with more points each month becomes “Student of the Month”; the student with this honor for more months during the school year becomes “Student of the Year:” 


Distinguished Performers Trophy: (350 or more points)

Distinguished Performer Medal: (330-349 points)


Special Achievement Medal: (310-329 points)


Honors Medal: (290-309 points)

Student of the month, July 2023

Sophia Roque is the “Student of the Month” for July 2023. She joint the studio in June of this year and has proven to be a very dedicated piano student. She achieved this award with a score of 39 points out of 40.
